PILATES

PI-LA-TES – (pəˈläˌdēz/) “a system of exercises using special apparatus, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture, and enhance mental awareness.”

Pilates is a great addition to any wellness program.

Pilates benefits people of all ages and fitness levels and evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates. It’s a safe system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat and variety of equipment (reformer, chair, bands, etc.) Pilates conditions the body from head to toe with a no-to-low impact approach and complements strength workouts and sports/activities (golf, tennis, cycling, running, etc.) It teaches body awareness, good posture, and easy, graceful movement. Patience and practice are required but results will follow.

Beware of Pilates programs that promise dramatic weight loss or overnight transformations. That’s not what pure Pilates is about. However, with time, practice, and dedication a consistent Pilates practice will:

• Improve posture, flexibility/mobility, and balance
• Tone and build long, lean muscles without bulk
• Challenge deep abdominal muscles to support the core
• Can help alleviate back pain
• Restore postural alignment
• Create a stronger, more flexible spine
• Promote recovery from strain or injury
• Offer relief from back pain and joint strength

More Info

We all work as a together as a team and share many clients.  We want to ensure you are comfortable w/your instructor and trust in his/her abilities. We encourage you to try out different instructors/trainers. We do our best to match trainer and client based on fitness level, medical concerns, gender preference, health and wellness goals, and, of course, personalities but sometimes it just comes down to good chemistry. We encourage you to interview us, as this will be a personal one-on-one relationship and your time and money should be well spent. You have to enjoy your sessions and trust the person you are working with in order to get results.

Make sure to check out our trainer profiles. Please note some of our schedules might be full.

Testimonials

Pilates is the perfect complement to my functional strength and cardio workouts at Training Partners, and Ashleigh brings a fresh vision and energy to our sessions which has boosted my motivation. She continually challenges me with new and innovative techniques, and her keen observational skills ensure that I am performing the exercises in the safest and most effective manner. Ashleigh’s clever wit and kind demeanor make our sessions fun and lively, and I always leave feeling taller, stronger in my core, and more aligned. Pilates with Ashleigh is an integral part of my fitness plan!

Donna Billings

I became a member of Training Partners at the recommendation of my trusted physical therapist in 2010. Pilates and TRX, individually supervised by Kelly Richards, have decreased my back pain dramatically by improving my core strength. Improving strength and fitness are THE way to take charge of your health.
